Designing clarity into complex products

Stuart was part of my Product Trio (Design, Engineering, PM) for several years and helped support products worth over $120MM in annual ARR. His capability to simplify complex workflows into easy to use, intuitive ones, and how he ensured consistent design and function across multiple products, directly led to churn reduction and the acquisition of new logos. He is a rare talent who understands how design can lead to business value. I hope to get the chance to work with him again.

I had the pleasure and privilege of working along side Stuart on our UX team at Tanium for the past 8 years. Throughout our time working together, he consistently elevated product quality by grounding every design decision in real user needs while balancing business objectives. Beyond his technical UX craft (hello information architect extraordinaire!), Stuart brings a contagious passion and collaborative spirit to cross-functional work, partnering seamlessly with product managers and engineers to build intuitive products. He earned the nickname "Stushine" because he is a joy to have around, any team would be lucky to have him and I will miss working with him immensely.

I worked with Stuart at Tanium on multiple teams over the course of our intersecting 8 years at the company. He is a joy to work with and always has a great attitude. He had a great deal asked of him our entire time together, including design responsibility for multiple products, usually not in the same space, at the same time. His work was always completed quickly, explained well, and he was truly the voice of the customer/user in many of our meetings. He also took a lot of feedback from product management, engineering, and other stakeholders to make something technically feasible and delightful to use. I was happy when we ended up working together again, and I know any team looking for an excellent user experience designer will be just as happy to welcome him on their team!

Stuart is a true advocate for users everywhere. He translates complex enterprise features into usable, sensible design solutions. He balances technical constraints with the grounding needs of the user and brings critical insight and clarity when requirements are vague. He's a skilled contributor at every step of the product development process, and his experience is evident in the work. He is a team player who elevates everyone in the room. I was very fortunate to work with him for many years and benefited directly from his collaboration.
